Camellia Herbal Tea

The tea packaging itself is going to be a cylinder package. The layout is done, but I'm doing something in photoshop, so I'll post that once it's done. These are going to be citrus-infused herbal tea flavors. Inside the top will be the slice images which will be a scratch-n-sniff image. The other group of images, the left is the hangtags and the bottom are the teabag packages. I'm thinking of including some recipes on the back of each.

As for my "Love Is In The Air" packaging (which I've been doing for my CD packaging class), I'm debating whether to do a normal CD package or go digital (USB). I also decided to do one for break-up songs.

Other plans I've decided to do is do 2 or 3 pieces per week (pushing for 3) while finishing my thesis book, which is almost done. I just need to create a few more spreads and re-create the cover as discussed in class.

I'm alive

What I've been up to...

Edited my webpage spread, putting the banner of me wearing the tshirts in there since I was told it's the weakest part of my book.

A continuation on discussing on the 404 errors in the US based on nazi and white supremacy sites.

My edit to my social media vellum foldout.
Did a spread on blogger imprisonment (bloggers going to jail for blogging pretty much something offensive that pisses off the government).

Didn't do much changes to this one, I just used Unibody for the title and made the text heavier.

My attempt in using gov't docs as inspiration. I find it plain, though. Probably going to have to add a few elements at least. Although I was inspired with the "This page has been left blank intentionally" pages. I'm doing something with that, which will be like alot of pages. I'll try to explain more about that in an upcoming blog. That chunk will be printed all in vellum.

The next group of pictures is a packaging I did based on the media foldout spread I did. I made it into a roll of tape, and I based it the idea of "covering" things and the same concept of overlaying so it would be hard to read the words.

I've been working on this CD packaging project, it's a packaging based on Romance and we were encouraged to think outside the standard 5x5 packaging. I did a heart shaped box like those box of chocolates they sell for Valentine's Day. The two on top is front and back (white heart in center of the front cover will be printed in gold), bottom is inside pattern and CD.

And this is what the lyrics booklet will look like sofar. It'll be an accordian fold and in a "paperdoll" style.

And this is just swipe to keep me inspired.

I'm probably going to do another packaging project from my list this week to catch up.

I have a layout of my book as sketches, but I'm probably just going to put little samples in order so I have something solid and organized for the blog during my process in finishing this book up.

Working on more stuff.

Portfolio pieces aside from thesis

These are some of the things I'm considering creating for my portfolio. These are just some ideas to get by. I've also been collecting swipe, but I need to organize them. I've been working on my thesis book alot so I can catch up. But here's what I have sofar:

Self-promo
Details: To make a business card, letterhead, envelope, and a promotional piece with my logo I've made from last year.

Book Series
Details: Create 3 book covers that will go well together (ex. fairy tales), and create the box for it.

CD packaging
Details: From my CD packaging class, I designed a logo for my independent record company, which is mainly for alternative and metal bands. I'm going to make a compilation CD for my record company. My objective will be to design the packaging and a promotional poster for it.

Sweets packaging
Details: To make packaging of sweets. Concept I'd want to work on is doing a few packages of what sweets you'd usually be in the mood for

Concert poster series
Make 3 concert posters. Either of the same concert or three different ones but using the same aesthetic.

Drink packaging
Details: TBA

Packaging with a dye-cut
Details: Making a package with an interesting dye-cut

Unusual/Conceptual CD Packaging
Details: Create a CD packaging that's different from any regular CD packaging. Give it an interesting concept.

I'll figure out the due dates and which order. I'll also make a project sheet with more details and swipe.

I did my first project, which I made it as a light one since I have to continue with my thesis book. It's my self-promo:

Not the best in identity projects, but I thought it'd be useful for myself. I created my logo last year and did different variations of business cards and other stuff. Was trying to keep it all consistant. We'll see how that goes.

I'm done with my overlays, I just need to have them printed, a few silkscreened.

Data data data

Took a while to get this one done, but this will be at the beginning. In a 1-part document layout, I discussed basic information on the history of the internet and about the cause of internet censorship. It will be a vertical foldout. Holes will be punched out. Also included will be a key with some holes so you can only read certain words. Will be printed on vellum, or maybe I'll silkscreen on acetate. I'll try both.

These are government documents I photocopied from the library today. They're random gov't docs, but I'm going to photoshop out the text and plug in my information and keep the photocopy texture. I'm thinking of creating duotones within my color pallet, or will that be too much?

I photocopied alot more, but here are some.
